Darkness fell

Leaving Paris

The Gods were angry
Excitement at fever pitch

Bye bye Rue Grenuille
Our apartment hadn't been rented again so the manager had told us we could leave later in the afternoon. Our plan was to hit the streets of Paris and explore St Germaine and our local surroundings (should probably have done this day one but didn't quite work out that way.

Plans were altered by the thunder which woke us in the morning. It was pouring. A bit later, the light began to fade and the sky became black. We wondered if there had been an eclipse.
The picture below is too bright as the iPhone autocorrected the colour! Without knowing it would have felt more like mind it than like 9am. Car lights were on and people were staring at the sky.

Ahhh Paree in the summer

Bizarrely, 20 mins later the sky was very light grey and then cleared to blue with the odd wispy try hard cloud. Chatting later to a Parisian, he told us he had never seen weather like that in Paris before. Weird.

Disney
Have steeled myself (a little) for the Disney experience.
Off we go.

Disney!!!!!

After surviving the Paris RER at peak hour for the 40 minute train ride to Disney we arrived for a 5 minute walk to the hotel. The bargain, struck many month ago was to stay at a cheaper affiliated Disney hotel rather than an actual disney hotel.
Advantages of Disney hotel are two hours earlier access to the parks and fancier premises - pools etc. Disadvantage is price aka more than triple.
So we bargained. Kids wanted maybe 2 days in Paris and 10 in DIsney, we had slightly other ideas. In the end we offered 2 days at a Disney Hotel or 3 at a non-disney hotel.
Zoe who has spent months investigating, reading, planning and researching all that is Disney pondered and did some maths and the bargain was struck. 3 days in Disney.

Leaving the subway station

Done this before. Not tourists, travelers.

Trevelers stopped to ask for thoughts re: impending adventures.

How lucky are we. Exorbitant ticket prices but its 3 days for the price of two. THREE days in Disney - how lucky are we.

Strolled through mega mall a la Orlando........Dinner at Korean place.

Food is cheap. Cup of tea - 4.50Euro

Disney maps on hand, we set out our strategy for the day ahead. What order, what times, when to use the fast passes. Zozo continues to quote verbatim from her research - oh the Blue lagoon - thats in the two three restaurants. Must do Phantom Manor first. There are hidden shortcuts, I'lll show you where.

After dinner, Drew rearranged Ree's hair. TOok it VERY earnestly and seriously (are they different?)

Until the big day tomorrow
Can't wait for that one

Enough

    1. Correct in the counting department.
For the sake of literary accuracy, we started with 3, then one died and was replaced with 2 slightly smaller bags... The others are defined as daypacks (editor definitions rule) so don't count.
Still - a little trinket here and there all add up in weight so soon the bag count may need to increase or else we will each be wearing 4-5 layers on each flight.
