Oia
Took the bus to Oia (ee-ya) on the North of the island. Drive was a bit what I imagine Amalfi will be like with cliffs and narrow roads allowing the perfect mix of terror and awe.
A lot is still not open - weather and early in the season? Lotsbof wall painting and pavement cleaning. Like putting a new cover on an old book.
There is a large ocean cruise ship in the Harbour each day but we are told that in summer there can be up to 10 ships in the Harbour. We think it touristy now, can imagine that degree of tourist influx. Have heard it is similar in Dubrovnik.
View from Oia |
At the north tip of Santorini |
The young artist |
So pretty |
